It was a cold, blustery day (as in, about 6 days ago) when we pulled together our dream head-to-toe outfits from the shop for the Spring '13 Lookbook. We had sunshine on our minds but nary a blooming flower in sight, so we took over the center city home of totally fab friend and WILLED Spring to get here already. Apparently it worked - yeah '75-degrees-and-sunny-all-week' we're looking at you!

But wait, there's more! Crystal encrusted Stepping Stone Ring, Bohemian Duster Earrings, and Dynasty Bangle bring out the glam like nobodies business.

The Benecio bag comes in an essential taupe and gorgeous white leather with diamond details on the front and intricate side panels. The Belen tote is woven and then knotted with fun tassels that hang from a comfortable wrapped shoulder strap. Australian designer, Samantha Wills brings us unbelievably stunning pieces we can’t live without. The cocktail ring’s stones make quite the statement in amber and burnt sienna, while the Twin Romance Necklace is versatile featuring a two sided pendant. The intricate details in the serpent earrings are a trend that flows through all of her jewelry styles.

This week we loved colorful, well-tailored pieces paired with vibrant accessories. Purple twill skinny jeans by J Brand!? Flattering, cute and shockingly easy to pull off. A denim dress with nipped in waist by Isabel Marant will be forever chic and smoky leather twin pack bag by Jas M.B. is a classic, seasonless piece.

Several stunning new collections arrived this week, and we are having quite the jewelry moment. House favorite Iosselliani is a line that is hand-crafted in Italy, and blew our minds this season with technicolor gem and crystal bracelets, necklaces and broaches. Ombre fringe earrings and necklaces are updated with dark jewels, and we're literally planning outfits around the buggy broach!
LA based Sashi sent over layers and layers of gold and silver nugget necklaces - to be worn as bracelets if you wish. Vanessa Mooney's colorful bangles and necklaces are fun, sultry and so easy to throw on with a sweater and jeans.
Layer in a few Chan Luu wrap bracelets, worn as necklaces, and you'll have your own jewelry moment.

New Spring sweaters from oh-so-clever luxe knit label, Line. Always an in house favorite, Line sweaters are soft and enduring, with intricate weaves and great color palettes. Fresh new patterns for Spring, but overall the pieces are quite seasonless.
All styles are in house now, as sampled. (stunning) Shoes not included.

At first glance, printed silk pants & long skirts are a bit intimidating for Spring, no? But look further and you'll see they are rather easy to wear. Pair either trend with a neutral, streamlined top and you've got an ensemble that looks pretty fabulous and feels pretty casual.
That said, we have a huge crush on this little silk number from Rodebjer - the poppy print goes well with black, and the silk 'shorts' liner is quite cheeky. Love. Pick up your own pair here.
Silk pant by Rodebjer. Black top by James Perse. Sugi bag by local line Astrid.
Chiffon skirt by Maggie Ward. Drawstring leather bag by Monserrat de Lucca. Black snakeskin flats by Yosi Samra. Tops by FreePeople, and vintage.

Winter is approaching, for which we rather love the look of a big, textured sweater paired with dark & sexy boots. One of our favorites includes this suede ankle bootie by French bohemian label Antik Batik (above left). Featuring a softly rounded toe, black wooden heel, and an amazingly chic suede kercheif that slips on the boot, on your neck or on your wrist, wherever you fancy.
Also on our love list - this taupe riding boot and killer suede heel with wrap around leather straps, both by newbie shoe line Mea Shadow. They have superb craftsmenship and style that straddles 'classic' and 'trend' perfectly.
Now, go kick up a heel!

We're in the midst of a beautiful Northeastern Fall, and things are just as they should be - it's cool and sunny out and the Phillies are in the playoffs. What better time to break out gorgeous knitwear that is casual and comfortable!
Shown here: Cashmere blend knit pants by La Verte, cropped cotton sweater by Rodebjer, knit hat by FreePeople, and flocked scarf by Leigh & Luca.
Little sweaters are a big trend this season, and we especially love these versions by Rodebjer and Dolce Vita. The collegiate sweater, here in navy, is soft, has kitchy cut-outs at the elbow, and the longer length along the backside give a flattering line. Also available in heather grey.
As always, FreePeople is tops for cozy and cute knitwear. Paired with the Stilt jean by AG Denim, the Shopper by Jas M.B. and bundle of scarves by LoveQuotes.
Below is the chicest field coat ever, part of Isabel Marant's incredible Etoile collection for Fall. As with most of her pieces, it can be styled several different ways and worn pretty much year round. Features both button and drawstring enclosure, along with a removable fleece lining that is a killer piece all on it's own.

The Shopis officially filled with incredibly versatile pieces for Fall & Winter! We thought we'd show them off in a week's worth of lustworthy outfits.
Black Knits
We could live in both of these pieces! The Katie Dress by Iro has a soft structure that makes it comfortable and a great piece from day to night. The oversized sweater dress by Eternal Child kind of makes us want to jump up on down on the bed and start a pillow fight. Paired with a lightweight and roomy canvas bag by Leigh & Luca.
Blue Print
Both of these looks are long and lean, and in the blue & charcoal palette that we will never stop loving. Ever.
Society For Rational Dress nailed the Fall Maxi Dress trend with this flattering scoop neck version. It's comfortable, not overwhelming in weight and amazingly flattering. Paired with a nubby little vest by Rodebjer that, so far, seems to go with absolutely everything we try to pair it with. On the right we have the classic cool leather jacket by Line, paired with the only blouse ever that could be described as both "pretty" and "leopard print". Finally, check out the new jewelry styles by Low Luv X Erin Wasson - especially the shark's tooth bangle that comes in silver and gold. I mean, come on.
Fall Florals
We needed a break from describing all of the great 'military' pieces in house (but we'll probably get back to it next week) so this army green top by Iro falls into the "florals" category for now. But, it's really comfortable and the coloring is great. Actual floral scarf is by Antik Batik. The boots and leather satchel are soft and chocolate brown, slightly rugged but still feminine.
Floral dress is by Rodebjer. The print is vibrant and the cut of the dress is very clean and works well alone or belted.
Like what you see? Stop by the Shop, we are open every day. Or give a call and we'll give you more info and pictures. Or, check back next week, when we go live with the online shop!

In a desperate attempt to ignore the 97 degree heat today, we cobbled together our September mood board. Two strong statements emerged - one depicting a colorful, textured bohémienne, the other a bit of a rocker, all tousled hair and nostalgia. We love both looks and the mood board has us swooning over the current Habit inventory all over again. Mood board and a few current rails of styles shown above and below.
Of course, this season, both of these ladies rock the military trend!

We've been living in Yosi Samra's ballet flats this past summer for their comfort & style. The springy-soft elastic upper gives an immediately perfect fit, meaning no 'back of the ankle band-aids' needed. Plus, they fold up on their own in the cutest little pouch (we are total suckers for great packaging) that fits perfectly in any size handbag.
Fall versions of the ballet flat just arrived this week - $55 to $62 per pair. Love.

LEIGH & LUCA scarves are a house favorite - we love the luxurious, urban feel to the scarves, which are woven on antique wooden looms and produced in limited editions. They wrap around the neck beautifully and serve quite well as a shawl or beach cover up.
LEIGH & LUCA just launched a small collection of handbags, and they are as perfect as the scarves! We heart the canvas bag with chain attachment for it's versatility, durability and good price point. Check out in-shop styles below ...

It was 103 degrees in Philadelphia today ... again. A bit hard to make a fashion statement in that kind of weather, no? But Erin Wasson's utterly cool yet very accessible jewelry line, Low Luv, makes the task a bit easier. So what if all you can bear to wear is a cotton shift dress and sandals? Pile on an armful of etched bangles and the gorgeous Aztec ring, and suddenly your look is complete.
Shown above: Moroccan cuffs, Aztec rings & Gladiator cuffs, all $28 - $64.

Yes, we love the skinny cargo that is all the rage this summer - we're looking at you Houlihan. While waiting for a restock of J Brand (next week ladies!), we found an amazing alternative by Marrakesh that has a slightly more relaxed fit and significantly more relaxed price.
Shown with Contrast Panel Shirt by James Perse, Heel by Boutique 9, (one of a kind mix) Chan Luu Wrap Bracelet and home-studded vintage knapsack.

Have you ever left the house feeling positively radiant in those killer heels ... only to hobble home hours later with a not-so-graceful gait? Well, so have we - which is why we love these Yosi ballet flats. The soft and comfortable leather ballet flats fold up in their own pouch, compact enough for most handbags. Now you can walk home on those cobblestone streets while still hitting the 'cute shoe' quotient.
Grey leather heel with side zip, $98. Grey suede ballet flat, $55. Black suede pump, $88, black leather flat, $55.

We are super stoked for the Chan Luu Trunkshow this Saturday (see post below), especially since the first shipment of styles arrived yesterday! We tore into the box and snapped pics of a few styles, above.

All styles will be discounted for the one-day trunkshow. Stop by the shop early in the day for mimosas, cupcakes, and the best pick of this incredible selection of accessories!

We loved the Los Angeles based indie label A Common Thread, and were initially bummed upon word that Fall 09 would be their last collection. Lucky for us, the line didn't go away entirely but instead was reincarnated as Of Two Minds. Same chill west-coast vibe, but with a focus on vintage inspired patterns that are fresh, feminine, and tailored to perfection.
Featured above: Cap sleeve silk dress in zebra print, liberty print button down with elaborate embroidery across the shoulder blades, and cotton guaze camisole & poet's blouse. All in house now.

Going somewhere this weekend? Or maybe you're just going from day to night, with 25 degrees in between. With the drop of a hat, the zip of a jacket and the wrap of a scarf, layering up (or down) is easy and chic.
Although, there's really no reason to let that Iro jacket out of your sight ... ever ...
FIRST LOOK: Cassie cardigan and silk camisole by Erin Kleinberg. Slouchy skinny by Current/Elliott. Slot shoulder bag in grey by Jas M.B. Linen scarf by Lovequotes. Belt, vintage. Baja Fedora.
Leather jacket by Iro. Striped top by Ella Moss. Slouchy skinny jean by Current/Elliott. Lazer cut leather oxford by Boutique 9. Isa messanger bag by Monserrat de Lucca. Crystal rings by Iosselliani.

We are always looking for everyday pieces that have that little extra ... something. Sure we want comfortable design and breathable fabric, but a little oomph factor is nice, too. Enter Erin Kleinberg, stylist turned designer whose line of tanks, tees and cardigans has oomph to spare. Each piece is made with tencil - an eco-friendly fabric derived from wood pulp - and the effect is a soft and slouchy feel of jersey. All embellishments are hand sewn.
Featured Above: Morgan Tank in Charcoal, Kaylee Tee in White, and Luke Military Cardigan in Black. Styles look great as is, but we'd probably pare with pants for the daytime...

What inspires your style? Each season we fill the wall (couldn't figure out a paint color, so corkboard it was) with tearsheets, cards, scraps and mementos that inspire our buying and merchandising.
The picture that emerged for this month was both romantic and casual. We've stocked up on slouchy trousers coupled with floral blazers and blouses; chambray and denim-on-denim looks, and soft takes on the military trend. New styles are arriving daily - stay tuned for trend-specific posts!

We love the nonchalant elegance of Parisian line IRO; each piece, each season just exudes comfort and style. A full selection of Spring styles are in house now, including dresses, fleece skirts, slouchy trousers and leather outwear. And the studded Arki bag (above right) in grey with adjustable strap, just may be the chicest messanger bag we've seen yet.

Weather so far this month has been part lion, part lamb. Either way we can't think of anything we want to wear more than Spring styles from James Perse. Cozy, flattering and fresh looking, they are the quintessential transitional pieces. All styles in house now, as sampled.
Above: the Dolman Sleeve Dress, in soft fleece. Double Layer Rouched Dress in cotton, with basic cotton tank. Bolero Sweater in combed cotton, paired with Rolled Cargo Pant. Last: Fleece Sweatshirt Dress.
Close up views of the Bolero Sweater and Rouched Skirt ... just because we love them so.

The Spring campaign for Chloe has me day-dreaming of warmer days to come; I love the simplicity of the shot and the sense of empowerment it conveys. Why, of course one could rock a cape, with shorts. In taupe no less, and to utterly chic effect.
It also had us playing around with our own stock of vintage capes and ponchos. They are great layering pieces that can take you through several seasons, and they never seem to go out of style.
Above: Vintage cotton cape, lined with armholes. One of a great selection available in house; $48 - $98.

Great new transitional pieces arrived this weekend! I love the chambray trend this season, and this button down by Splendid is a perfect version. Super soft with great snap enclosures. Complimented by Isa bag in taupe, Chan Luu wrap bracelet, silk pants by Maggie Ward and silver tassel necklace by Victorian Hippie.
Shown above: Jersey bolero with ribbed sleeves and elastic lining. Cotton skirt with side rouching. Basic tee, James Perse. Cashmere dip-dye scarf by Chan Luu, with the Elation boot.

Vintage & Secondhand Bags.
Need a little pick-me-up that isn't a huge commitment? Find a vintage bag and make it yours. They are perfectly worn in and so there's no need to be precious when contending with snow/rain/indigo dyed denim. They are often unique and one of the very last of their kind. And finally, they cost less than a plate of sushi.
After all, how often can you find Longchamp for $48? (that would be the leather shoulder bag on the right. LOVE.)
